Two things.
1. I watched My Neighbor Totoro and enjoyed it.
2. Next time you come over we shall watch Naussica and the Valley of the Wind.
Also. You really should read some Roald Dahl and Charles Dickens. Perhaps no Vampires, but plenty of dark.

Roald Dahl's books are some of the easiest reads you'll ever come across. My immediate suggestions:
The Wonderful Tale of Henry Sugar And Six More.
The Witches.
The BFG.
